Our focus for the year 2014, among other things is our mission trip to Nicaragua, which will take place June 15-22. We will be ministering in Chichigalpa and Chinandega, which are in the Chinandega department in the far northwest of Nicaragua; we will be less than 100 miles from the Honduras-Nicaragua border. We will be partnering with Pastor Larry Trump, who is a full-time missionary, and we will be conducting multiple outreaches. We will be taking a team of roughly 10-15 people.
Many miracles have taken place in Nicaragua; in this ministry, they feed 1000 youth each week. At times, there had been enough food for only 600 youth, but the Lord kept providing, and the food never ran out, until the last youth was fed. This has happened on multiple occasions. We will be conducting food drives at 11 different feeding centers in the region. Additionally, we will be conducting marriage conferences, and we will be working extensively with youth. There will be one-day and multiple day youth camps; we will be serving 400-600 youth, ranging from ages 14-25. We will be doing sports outreaches for the youth; this is another effective way to reach these youth.
We will also be conducting services which involve prophecy, Holy Ghost movements, a message, and an opportunity for many to give their hearts to Christ. Our goal is to touch as many lives as we can when we are in Nicaragua. We want to spread the love of Jesus to many, and we want to share the hope that we have in Christ with others.
Current and Future Events
Sledgehammer received much of his training in missions at the Faith Training Center which is tucked in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Wahalla, SC. From July 5 until August 13 2014, there will be a 40-day, intensive, full-time mission school. At The Great Adventure World Missions Summer School, students will receive both spiritual and practical training which will prepare students to go to spread the gospel to all the nations. Students will learn how to be a "world christian", and will secure an understanding of God's worldwide purpose in world missions, and the student's role. There will be hikes, and other challenges, along with the regular curriculum. There will be teachers from America, Southeast Asia, and from Australia. There will be classes in Global Perspective; Missionary Evangelism; Understanding Culture; People Groups; Reached and Unreached, and much more.
